Q. Can a UNR alumni get access to your e-book library?

Answer

The UNR Libraries' collection includes e-books from a variety of services. These services, each with their own software and licensing rules.

Many of the UNR-only licensed ebooks can be viewed while on campus using a guest wireless login.  To view these you will need to bring your own wireless device (laptop, smart tablet, etc.) in to the Knowledge Center ask for the self service guest wireless account instructions  (http://www.unr.edu/it/network/wireless/unr-guest ) or ask at either the Computing Help Desk or The Library & Research Services Desk located in the 2nd floor atrium.  You must be at least 18 and have a current government issued ID.  Our largest collection of E-books, EBook Central (formerly called EBL), is unfortunately limited to currently enrolled students.

We can not offer off-campus access to our licensed e-books, but you may be interested in some of the open-access titles available.  Have a look at the "Free EBooks" tab on this guide: http://campusguides.unr.edu/e-books

Depending on your particular interests, you may also want to check out the e-book options through the Washoe Public Library
