MARS, the Mathewson Automated Retrieval System at the UNR Knowledge Center is a robotic system that houses many of the older, low-use books, journals, and other materials. Check HERE for more about MARS, including a video of the robotic cranes in action.

How do you request material from MARS? If you have a UNR Library account, you can use your NetID (if you're a UNR student, staff, or faculty member) or your library barcode number for all other users. The Library barcode is on the back of your borrowers or UNR ID card and begins with 2123300...

When you are looking at a book record in the Library Catalog, there is a "request from MARS" button which will prompt you to enter NetID or barcode.

If you have any trouble, or would just prefer help, you can call the Library Services Desk to request something be retrieved from MARS for you. Their number is 775.682.5625 and they are open most hours the building is open.
