The answer to that question varies depending on what you include as "books". Books could mean magazines and journals that are bound together at the end of the year. Books could include government documents that may be only a few pages. And we have many books that are on micro formats (microfilm, microfiche, or microcard). I can not give you an exact figure, since there are a number of collections that contain lots of books, but are cataloged as one, but current estimates are between 1.5-2 million volumes. Not included in that number are the many hundreds of thousands of electronic titles we have available online.
